President's Message
Toby Kahan
I am honored to serve this District in its highest office and to represent you on the GFWC-CFWC Board. I bring to this position, my experiences and creativity to accomplish the goals for this administration. We are fortunate to have an excellent Executive Committee dedicated to their positions, and a great group of Club Presidents, Chairmen and Committee Members serving on the District Board. Our twenty-six Clubs and four Sections continue to meet the needs of their communities and members and have provided our organization with many fine leaders.
Each day is a gift from the heart, and of all gifts, the most precious is life. I have chosen as my special emphasis, Health, because so many of us are either suffering with a debilitating disease or have a loved one we are caring for during an illness. If we can become more knowledgeable of the possible causes of many life-threatening diseases, and, more importantly, take action to try and prevent them, we will have done what we can to make our lives and the lives of our loved ones healthier. Therefore, I am encouraging our members to:
¨ Plan activities that promote healthy bodies and strong hearts
¨ Support organizations that provide treatment and research to find cures
¨ Meet the needs of those living in care facilities to improve their quality of life
This year’s Club Manual, published by the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, has new project/program information and materials. More information is available on its website, www.gfwc.org or by calling Headquarters at 202-347-3168. Additional information is also available at our California Federation of Women’s Clubs website, www.cfwc.org. I hope you will check out our website frequently for new information and updates. On behalf of our San Gabriel Valley District Executive Board, have a wonderful Federation Year and please do not hesitate to call upon us to serve you.
Each Day Is A Gift From The Heart -
May it be wrapped in Love, and Filled With Opportunities To Live, To Love, To Give.
