PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE:  LINDA KOONTZ

I am honored and privileged to serve as your District President. San Gabriel Valley has so much to be proud of with many accomplishments we have made over the years, in our efforts to make a better place for all mankind. I know we will continue with great achievements, because of the love, dedication and passion each one of you have for our Federation. Remember that if we stand united and work together as a TEAM, there isn’t anything that we can’t accomplish! TEAM means….TOGETHER EVERYONE ACHIEVES MORE. Leadership will be my major focus during this administration and your District will do everything in their power to help you with anything you may need. There will be training offered throughout the year and we hope that your members will take full advantage of the learning opportunity. Remember the "one lonely penguin" that could not stand-alone? When he called upon his friends and they "walked together shoulder to shoulder" they accomplished so much more! Remember as you set your goals for this coming year, to include everyone so that you are all on the "same page". Take the time to “explain and mentor” your new members. Teach and practice good Leadership skills especially to your new members. Please don’t try and encourage your new members to take on a position in club if they are not ready. When they are ready to take on a position not only will they know, but you will as well. Make sure they understand what our organization is all about and explain to them what their responsibilities are as a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs. I encourage all our clubs to please invite me for a visit, not just a “fun event”, but to your meetings too! Please don’t hesitate to ask me to give a presentation on any subject you feel would “benefit” your members.  I encourage you to invite your District Officers and Chairmen to come and speak at any of your meetings. I look forward to taking our wonderful Journey together with each and every one of you through the next two years and please remember….”To Step Outside The Box and Take the Lead”….no matter how small it may be…..you will be glad that you did!

Hugs in Federation,

  Linda
